Lili’s Samba

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2012

Lili was nervous for her showcase at the Nash Dancenter this past Sunday, but the needn’t have been! She danced a beautiful samba alongside her teacher and partner Sergey Anisimov. The whole showcase was fantastic- I love watching all of the ballroom dancing! It is especially cool because I have been attending the showcases for the last few years and have seen the progress of many of the dancers… so great to see how well they do!

There were a lot of dances performed… I didn’t shoot much while others were performing, but here’s one of the few:

Lili is always so much fun to watch, and looks like she is having a blast! Sergey is an amazing dancer and has been Lili’s partner for many performances in the past.

Coyne PR Day at the Races

Monday, July 9th, 2012

“The horse, with beauty unsurpassed, strength immeasurable and grace unlike any other, still remains humble enough to carry a man upon his back.”
― Amber Senti

This year for Coyne PR’s summer employee appreciation day, we took a day to head down to the Monmouth Park Race Track. The heat was sweltering and to be honest, I barely left the shade to shoot any photos- I just got a few before grabbing more ice water! I felt pretty bad for the horses, and it actually left me wondering… do horses run faster in this kind of heat because they are so warmed up, or do they run slower because the heat exhausts them?

Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

As usual, the Coyne PR admin team outdid themselves with a jam-packed, activity-filled Take Your Sons and Daughters to Work Day. The day started off with a presentation by the CEO and President:

With, of course, some interjections by the kids!

PRWeek Awards - Coyne PR Big Group Shot!

Grammys, Oscars, and of course PRWeek… all a part of Awards Season! Coyne PR was nominated for Midsize Agency of the Year, and so everyone came out to keep our title as loudest agency in the room. We may not have won any awards this year, but at least we had a great night out and were the inspiration for an awards show drinking game! I think everyone either hated us or wished they worked for Coyne… we were obviously having the most fun!

I got yelled at for standing on a table to shoot that giant group shot… After, I photoshopped in myself and a few people who didn’t make it into the pic!

Here is Studio C (obviously I didn’t shoot this one!):

Karen’s “A Walk in the Park” Bridal Shower

Wednesday, February 29th, 2012

May there always be work for your hands to do.
May your purse always hold a coin or two.
May the sun always shine warm on your windowpane.
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

Of course Detective Karen knew about the shower… I wasn’t happy about that, but there was nothing that could be done at that point. Six months of planning finally came to fruition with a fantastic event- lots of people, food, and of course, presents!

Andrew’s Birthday at Marakesh

Saturday, January 21st, 2012

Last week we celebrated Andrew’s birthday by heading to Marakesh, a Moroccan restaurant with a belly dancing show. The food was good, but unfortunately this time the show was not very good. I wanted to test out the D3s though, because the restaurant is very dark- and that’s before they turned off the lights! The camera held up well, even up to 6400 ISO.

Coyne PR Annual Halloween Costume Contest

Tuesday, November 1st, 2011
Coyne PR Annual Halloween Costume Contest26

Paul the Piñata

Halloween was confusing. All my life my parents said, “Never take candy from strangers.” And then they dressed me up and said, “Go beg for it.” I didn’t know what to do! I’d knock on people’s doors and go, “Trick or treat.” “No thank you.”
-Rita Rudner

I have a lot more to post about Halloween weekend, but I currently have no electricity at home…

Halloween was on a Monday this year, so obviously all the creative folks at Coyne PR showed up ready to go (after weeks of preparation!) There were lots of great ideas: mail-order bride, cloudy with a chance of rain, Noah’s Ark, Twitter trending topics, Slash, Charlie’s Angels, a pimp, empty nest, and more! Check out the rest of the photos here.

Paul won the individual costume contest (right) with his home-made piñata costume, complete with a belly full of candy! He gave one of the kids a bat and was beat repeatedly until his costume burst open… the kids (and adults!) went nuts!

Congrats to everyone who dressed up at Coyne PR this year, and anyone who has no power or heat: I’m with ya. :(

Coyne PR Tailgate Competition ft. Judge Joe Cahn

Wednesday, October 19th, 2011

There has definitely been a lot of craziness in the office lately, but we took a break from it all yesterday afternoon to enjoy some time in the sun with a friendly tailgating competition. The Commissioner of Tailgating, Joe “Commish” Cahn came out to judge the competition along with Coyne PR‘s own Andrew Testa and Wayne Catan. The creativity and passion were evident- tons of delicious food and beverages, a fly-by by the “Goodyear Blimp,” and a surprise appearance and show by the Morris Catholic Crusaders’ cheerleaders made for a fun-filled afternoon!

Nash Dancenter Fall Showcase

Friday, October 14th, 2011

I remember the first time I saw Lili dance… it was on video, played proudly for me in the Hirshenson’s living room not long after I moved out to New Jersey. It was a Viennese Waltz to the tune of Once Upon a December from Anastasia, and it was so beautiful that my eyes got misty. It’s been a few years and I have attended many dance showcases, but it is still really incredible to see Lili, my shy, beautiful sister-in-law leave any inhibitions at the door and get out on the dance floor. My only dance judging experience comes by watching Dancing with the Stars, but I deem that good enough qualifications and give Lili a 10! She danced a crazy spinny Samba with her partner Sergey Anisimov, a romantic Viennese Waltz with Brian Nash (owner of Nash Dancenter), and she and my graceful parents-in-law danced a fun group Samba!
